A couple from Northwest Missouri opened a non-profit business that benefits two animal shelters in the region. Ron and Sharon Bonnett opened Travel Tails Tours with Collette Travel near Maryville, Missouri, in 2011. Sharon Bonnett said the business offers trips through Collette Travel to clients and all proceeds will be given to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter or the New Nodaway Humane Society in Maryville. Collette Travel is an international provider that has been in business for over 102 years. They are known for the quality of their tours and the training of their tour guides. Collette Travel offers tours to over 150 different destinations to all seven continents. Bonnett said the Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph has chosen two tours that they want to spotlight in 2020. The tour packages are to London and Paris in April and to New York City in September. All proceeds from the two tours will be given to the Friends of The Animal Shelter of St. Joseph. The money received from all other available tours will be split between the shelters in St. Joseph and Maryville. “The tours are offered multiple times during the year so if someone wants to go to London and Paris but the April date we have chosen doesn’t work, they have other options,” Bonnett said. “The tours are offered many times during the year and I can make arrangements for any of those dates.” She said the tours are designed to aid clients in making the most of their selected trip. “I will arrange everything for them including in many cases transportation to and from the airport,” Bonnett said. “Anyone in the United States can make arrangements through me and the two animal shelters will benefit. Once the client arrives at their destination, they meet a tour guide that is with them for the duration of the trip.” Bonnett said the tour packages include meals and activities that are planned to highlight the destination.
