The Rusty Chandelier Vintage Market and the Jesse James Antique Mall in St. Joseph will host a three-day vintage Christmas open house this weekend.
Mary McPhee, general manager, said the event will offer new holiday gifts and décor.
Both malls are stocked full of vintage and antique holiday decor and collectibles from hundreds of new and old dealers.
She said dealers will offer products such as vintage Christmas decorations including old-fashioned glass Christmas ornaments.
In addition, they have red and yellow-green vaseline glassware called Mosser Glass which comes from Cambridge, Ohio. The company was originally called the Cambridge Glass Company starting in 1954 and later changed in 1971 to the Mosser Glass Company.
They are one of the last companies in the United State to make this type of glassware and it is becoming more rare.
The red glassware will always be higher in price because its deep red color is created with gold which has a very fluid cost to it.
The Vintage Christmas Open House will be from Friday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 15. Refreshments will be provided. Attendees can enter to win prizes and there will be daily drawings for a gift certificate to the mall.
Kevin and Angie Hummer built the Jesse James Antique Mall in 1997 and they opened the nearby Rusty Chandelier in 1998.
Both stores recently sponsored a Denim & Diamonds drive to benefit the youth at the Noyes Home. Dealers and customers were encouraged to donate a pair of jeans or jackets to fit ages 1 to 18.
They received over 100 pieces of denim, including jeans in all sizes, plus jean jackets and coats. The items were delivered to the Noyes Homes on Oct. 27.
The Jesse James Antique Mall and the Rusty Chandelier are located at the corner of Interstate 29 and North Business Highway 71 off of exit 53 in St. Joseph. They are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
