Topeka Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic is offering telehealth appointments for patients in response to slowing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

BJ McCaskey, practice administrator, said this service gives their team the ability to continue to provide care to their patients.

He said they provide comprehensive services that include diagnostic testing and treatment for allergies, head and neck cancer, thyroid issues, nasal issues, ear conditions, hearing loss, speech conditions and swallowing problems.

The clinic was established in 1997 and relies on a staff of board-certified otolaryngologists, audiologists, speech-language pathologists and physician assistants to provide care to children and adults in Northeast Kansas.

They have satellite offices in Atchison, Hiawatha, Holton, Seneca, Sabetha, Onaga and St. Marys.

McCaskey said offices remain open with limited essential staff at this time.

In addition, virtual visits allow them to assess issues and determine if a visit is necessary.

He said most insurances have indicated that co-pays, deductibles and other cost-shares may not apply to some visits during the pandemic, meaning there is a potential for no out-of-pocket cost to some patients.
