Jackson Lawn Equipment located in Andrew County is a third generation family business that continues to grow as a lawn and garden equipment retailer.
Corey Jackson, owner, renovated the building in Country Club Village around three years ago. His daughter Christa also works as the office manager.
The business was originally started by his brother, Tom, in 1970. They did lawn care in the region for many years and then around 25 years ago they started selling the equipment.
Corey Jackson said they sell a full-line of lawn mowers including the zero-turn, the push mower, the walk-behind and the stand-on.
He said they recently became a dealer for RedMax lawn mowers.
“This is a well-priced product and the brand offers very competitive equipment,” Jackson said. “They are durable and have good features.”
They sell a line of trimmers, pruners and blowers to customers as well.
“We also sell snow equipment such as salt spreaders and plows that are very popular and necessary this time of year,” Jackson said.
In addition, the building is a full service center where all warranties and repairs are done at the business for the equipment they sell.
“We can repair nearly any brand out there,” Jackson said. “We sell many parts including engine oil and fuel filters. We can also sell just about anything that would take care of the units that we offer.”
Jackson Lawn Equipment is located at 6400 N. Belt Highway in St. Joseph. They are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. They can be contacted by phone at 816-232-9745.
