The Faucett Farmers Market has opened for the first year in a renovated building.
Ericka and Dustin Frieden own the market in Buchanan County along with Brandon and Shannon Ferbert.
They bought the old fire station building around six months ago and decided to use the facility to host a farmers market to benefit the community.
Ericka Frieden said they opened in May and there is no fee to enter the market. They will be opened every Saturday until the end of September.
“We had a lot of people visit our first weekend,” Frieden said. “We’ve had a really great response from the community and they’ve come out to support everyone at the market.”
Some of the product items available at the market include baked goods, produce, crafts, jewelry, candles, honey, homemade dog treats, designer cups, homemade car fresheners and flowers.
She said there are around 20 vendors each Saturday but they are currently accepting additional ones. In addition, she said local youth fundraising clubs are welcome to serve food.
The market is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is located at 14323 SE State Route 371 in Faucett, Missouri.
