The Falls City Nebraska Knights of Columbus will host the 30th annual Toy Show this weekend. Randall Simon is the event organizer and he started the show with his friend Kevin Gerdes and brother Darrin Simon. Randall Simon said the event has grown to the second largest show in southeast Nebraska. He said they will have vendors with over 81 tables of toys. Attendees and collectors can buy, sell or trade the items. “If they bring a photo of their tractor or their truck, we have booths that can make customized toys,” Simon said. “They can actually make a tractor, a semi-truck or a dozer as a replica of what you have at home.” He said the show works to offer a wide selection of toys for individuals and families. “We will have custom-model semi-trucks, heavy equipment, tractors, pulling tractors and pulling trucks,” Simon said. “That is along with the customized farming equipment such as hay balers. We work to make sure we have something for everyone.” In addition, they offer pedal tractors and NASCAR memorabilia. Simon said new this year will be a vendor that uses a laser cutter on steel and can customize signs of agriculture, construction and truck products. They will also offer a selection of Barbie’s, Hot Wheels and Tonka toys that were popular in the 1970s. Food and beverages will be available at a concession stand and all proceeds will go to the Falls City FFA Alumni and the Falls City FFA chapter. Admission to the show is $2.00 for those 12 years of age or older and is free for youth under 12. The proceeds from the admission price will be given to the Falls City Knights of Columbus. The 30th Annual Falls City Toy Show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 3. The event will be held at the Falls City Prichard Auditorium located at 312 W. 17th St. There also will be hourly drawings for door prizes. For more information on the show, contact Simon by phone at 402-274-8956 in the evenings.
