The Platte County High School Antique Show is an annual event that will be held this weekend as a fundraiser for student and school activities.
Marty Pope, retired teacher, said the two-day show will highlight over 70 antique dealers from across the region. They will have products ranging from glassware to farmhouse items.
This is the 48th year the event will be held in the community to benefit students.
Pope said he has been participating at the event as a vendor since the show began.
He attended the first show as a vendor when he was a sophomore in the high school. After graduating from college, he worked as a high school teacher for 30 years.
He now owns Reunions Antiques in downtown Leavenworth, Kansas.
During the show, there will be a concession stand opened that serves food and drink. The funds raised will be collected for the high school’s after prom party.
The Platte County High School Antique Show will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 21 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 22. The show will be held at the Platte City Middle School located at 900 Pirate Drive. The general admission fee is $3.
